What’s this? The debut single from Norwegian chap Jim Bergsted. It’s called ‘Reality’.
And what’s it like? A strong pop track that presents a sonically distorted and jarring observation on the perplexities of real life, paired up with a dreamy production and chord progression. All summed up in the lyric “Been trying to escape from reality, I like it better alone in my dreams. I’m running away from this place cos it’s killing me, nothing is ever like it seems”.
Written by? Jim himself, along with Preben Sælid Andersen and John-Halvdan Halvorsen.
I recognise that face/voice! You might well do. That’s because Jim Bergsted is the singer with the Norwegian duo Cars & Calories, whom we’ve featured on Scandipop quite a bit.
