Meet a new artist from Sweden called Jane Doe. And erm….that’s pretty much all we know about it for now.
What’s worth acquainting yourself with though, is the 2 minutes of music that they’ve uploaded to YouTube by way of an introduction. First impressions count, and after listening, we were left with a presumptuous yet overwhelming feeling that Jane Doe might well be the next best thing to happen in Scandinavian electro music. Just listen to the music. Personally, we were hooked in three times in the duration of that short clip. The melody that starts at the 0.33 mark, the beat that starts at the 1:02 point, and the vocals that commence at 1:20.
We first heard about this on the Line of Best Fit website yesterday. And they’re similarly gazumped as to who this Jane Doe entity is. Here’s what they have to say about it all;
“New Swedish artist Jane Doe has just revealed this rather intriguing clip by way of an introduction. Whether ‘Part One’ is an excerpt from the inevitable debut single or merely incidental music we’ve still to fathom, but from the sounds of things we can expect sky scraping levels of euphoric Euro-pop.
Who is actually behind Jane Doe is also a mystery. All we know is that she’s worked with some influential Swedish producers and songwriters. Helpful? Not particularly. But doubtless there’ll be more news soon”
This could all potentially be another iamwhoamiohwhocares scenario – except this time, with actual tunes worth caring about. Please don’t let it all turn to shit. Please.
