Who? Hailing from Norway but now residing in LA, Elise Eriksen is the 17-year-old daughter of one-half of Norwegian super-producer duo Stargate, Mikkel Eriksen. And after pretty much growing up in a recording studio, she’s now launching her own pop career.
What’s she out with? Her debut EP, ‘Golden Boy’.
What’s on it? Three previously released singles, an Afrojack remix of her first single, plus her brand-new single ‘Golden Boy’.
What’s it like? An eclectic mix of styles are explored, which makes sense for an artist’s debut EP. ‘Smile’ is the torch-song ballad, ‘Less’ is the disco-funk duet, and ‘Young Once’ and ‘Golden Boy’ go down the ’80s-inspired synthpop route. And it’s that latter journey we’d love to hear her continue in.
You can find ‘Golden Boy’ on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
