Today sees the launch of the solo career of Cecilia Kallin. The former lead singer of Swedish pop group Timoteij arrives now with her debut single and video ‘Runaway’. Written by Cecilia herself along with Åsa Schmalenbach and Josefina Sanner, and produced by Filip Lindholm. Timoteij fans will be pleased to learn that ‘Runaway’ isn’t a world away from the sound she peddled so well with her former group. An earthy, mid-tempo folk-pop track with an uplifting chorus, and a heavy injection of instrumentation – in this case, the strings are given pleasingly large prominence.
