Who? Amanda Aasa from Örnsköldsvik in Sweden. Last night she competed in P4 Radio’s annual P4 Nästa contest.
And….did she win? Nope, that honour went to Tim Lööv with ‘All I Need Is You‘.
Ah, poor Amanda. Well, actually, she won the best prize, really. Every year in the P4 Nästa contest, SVT look at the final line-up, and from the eight acts they decide upon whom to bestow a wildcard entry into Melodifestivalen on. And it doesn’t necessarily have to be the winner. They can choose their favourite.
Ok, ok, I think I know where this is going. Amanda Aasa is the first artist confirmed to be competing in Melodifestivalen 2020.
Amazing. With what song? Well that song won’t be announced until later in the year, and revealed until the contest in February. But the song she competed with in P4 Nästa was ‘Gå Hem‘.
And when will the other 27 artists for Melodifestivalen 2020 be announced? Probably late November or early December. ‘Tis (almost) the season again!
