Mimi Oh is back. Collaborating with Swedish producer Husguden on a brand new single, ‘I En Anna Del Av Världen’ (In Another Part Of The World).

It’s a house track! But those who assume that Mimi Oh has now left behind her trademark 80s inspired sound, wouldn’t be completely right. ‘I En Annan Del Av Världen’ is actually a cover of a big Swedish hit from the 80s, originally made famous by pop/rock group Freda. So it ALL makes sense, see?

Secretly, we’ve wanted to hear Mimi Oh’s vocals let rip on a big, hands-in-the-air dance track for a while now, so we’ve got our wish. And she’s as suited to it as we suspected she would be. The house production doesn’t borrow anything from the original, so if you’re unfamiliar with Freda’s version, then for all intents and purposes, this is gonna be like a 2012 dance track for you. Commercial (hooray!) synths, and there’s even a brief enough appearance of dubstep here. It sounds like a floor filler, and is definitely dance music to dance to (which unfortunately not all dance music is!).

The single is released worldwide on December 10th, via Playground Music in Sweden.

‘I En Annan Del Av Världen’ got its premiere on P4 Radio in Gothenburg yesterday, and they’re streaming the show again online. So to listen to the song in full, skip to the 3:19 mark of the player;
