Just days ago, Mamma Mia finally broke the record for highest grossing film of all time at the UK box office. After 23 weeks on release, it’s now taken £69,066,035 – beating the £69,025,646 that previous record holder Titanic had taken when it closed in 1998. The film, which is a musical made up of Abba songs, has proven to be one of the most successful films of all time, becoming a hit globally. It cements the reputation that Abba already had – as everyone’s favourite pop band, who made simple, accessible, and transcendent songs that are known and loved by people all over the world. Congrats to Benny, Bjorn, Frida and Agnetha!
