Earlier this week we had the official Stockholm Pride 2014 song (hello Ola Salo & Kleerup!), and today we get the official Oslo Pride 2014 song – which also happens to be the official Euro Pride 2014 song too, as the Norwegian capital has been chosen as the host city for EuroPride festivale for the second time in a decade.

The song is ‘Love’, performed by Swedish singer Hector Lopez, and written/produced by Linda Sonnvik and Chris Oscarsson (aka Soundstreamers). It’s an enormously catchy number with a big singalong chorus. And it’s got that delightfully scintillating dancepop production that is somewhat becoming the trademark of Sonnvik/Oscarsson (see also this) – a frantic, bouncing, yet very commercial and Europop sound. Speaking of Europop, ‘Love’ sounds almost Balearic in its summer rays that shine out like a J-Lo and Pitbull collab. This is giving us a tan just listening to it. In fact it’s quite in sync with the World Cup 2014 anthems that have also been surfacing so far this summer. World Cup 2014 and EuroPride 2014 are singing from the same song sheet – and it sounds marvellous.

Here we have a 90 second clip of the song ahead of its release at the end of the month. Listen and ‘Love’;

You can listen to the song in full over on P4 Radio’s website. Just skip to the 4:13 point to play ‘Love’, or just listen from the beginning to hear an interview (in Swedish) with the song’s composer, Linda Sonnvik.

‘Love’ will be released worldwide on May 26th, with EuroPride taking place in Oslo the following month.
