Bliss! Hard2Beat Records are finally ready to launch Swedish uber quality pop sensation Gathania in the UK!
They’re describing her as their ‘massive new act for 2009’ which bodes well, and they’ve given her a slot on the national Dance Nation tour that kicks off next month. On top of that, they’ve gone with our favourite song of hers, ‘Blackout’, as the first single. Well, kind of. They’ve given it a bit of a remix and renamed it ‘Blame It On You’. But thankfully the remix stays very true to the original and still encapsulates both the balladry of the first verse and the pop/dance of the rest of it. And we actually prefer the new name too, it’s catchier.
We’ve been a fan of Gathania ever since we heard ‘Blackout’ late last year. It was produced by Jonas Von Der Burg, he of genius September wizzadry. Her first single in her native Sweden was ‘Get It Out’, and was released last month. It’s in the top 30 over there still. There’s no official date for ‘Blame It On You’ in the UK yet, but Hard2Beat have wacked the audio on youtube and you can have a listen below;
