Erik Hassle has today premiered his new single ‘Are You Leaving’ on Aftonbladet’s website.
It’s a mid-tempo ‘jam’, a little on the same wave length as Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ perhaps. Musically anyway, not melodically. It’s not as instant as his recent ‘Standing Where You Left Me’, but it’s definitely up there amongst his best, if only for the excellent production, which only serves to compilment and enhance the subtle melody. Nobody does the wistful electro ballad like the Swedes manage to, and this is a prime example. We’re looking forward to his next full length album, after last year’s temporary fix, the ‘Taken’ EP.
