What’s this? Swedish artist Frida Sundemo is out with a brand-new EP – ‘Sounds In My Head’.
What’s on it? Five tracks. Three previously released tunes ‘Nothing Can Hurt Me’, ‘Gazelles’ and ‘Anything’, plus two new songs – ‘Backbone’ and ‘Backlashing’.
What are the new songs like? ‘Backbone’ is also the new single, and deservedly so – an upbeat and dreamy synth beauty that’s piano and drum-beat heavy. ‘Backlashing’ is the perfect EP closing song – chilled out and melancholic, but also so gorgeous that it makes you want to press play on the whole experience again.
What does Frida say about the new single? ‘Backbone’ is “that feeling when it suddenly hits you that you hurt someone you love. That mixed feeling of guilt, regret and endless love.”
What are the highlights? Honestly, each track is a highlight in its own way, with the biggest highlight being experiencing the EP as a cohesive whole. It’s a beauty, this one.
