Elisa’s are back with a brand new album which will be released in Sweden next Wednesday. And you can have a listen to clips of all of the tracks in one handy little album sampler here.
We were sent the full thing earlier this morning. All was going very well indeed until we got to track 11 – ‘Linjen i Min Hand’. And all of a sudden we were overcome by the really quite pleasant sensation of being rocked to our very core by the power of some scorching hot schlager music! We still haven’t been able to make it onto track 12. The repeat button keeps getting in our way.
Composed by Thomas G:son (of course, OF COURSE!) and Henrik Sethsson, it’s one of those exhilarating, fast-paced schlager experiences that makes your body feel like it’s had a five hour run in the space of one individual three minute listen (and yes – it clocks in at exactly three minutes. Hmmm….). Think ‘Take Me To Your Heaven’. Think ‘Listen To Your Heartbeat’. Think ‘Jag Ljuger Så Bra’. The type of schlager that’s frantic in production, forceful in melody, and admirably challenging in vocal delivery (and as always, Elisa Lindström delivers vocally). And all of this sandwiched between an intro that grabs you aggressively, and a big gale force ending.
