Denmark has just gone and spawned a colourful young lady to get excited about – Cinnamon Girl.
That name sounds like it belongs to a Stepford Wife superhero – so oooh yes, we like it. Her real name though is Camilla Roholm, and she has us know that she writes, records, and produces all of her own material. Not that any of that really matters in pop music, but still – she’s immensely proud of it, and rightfully so.
The first taste we get of things to come from her is her debut track, ‘Friends’. It’s pop! And it’s electro! And it’s got a tiny bit of rockstar attitude thrown into the mix too. It sounds like a fresh update on both 80’s synth music, and the modern day Scandinavian electro that has gone before her. And did we mention the rockstar attitude too?
This isn’t a grower. It’s an instant and vigorous grabber and groper.
