Here’s an interesting new song we stumbled upon last week. ‘Forgive Forget’ by Caligola – a project of Björn Dixgård and Gustaf Norén from Mando Diao.
The song is retro melodic pop. A large slice of bombastic disco funk. It’s got a remarkable cacophony of sounds that reeled us in and made us stay until the very end. An intro that sounds like the theme tune to a cheesy American soap opera from the 80’s, then gives way to a song that could be mistaken for early Alphabeat were it not for the lack of a female vocal. Us being us, we WOULD prefer a female vocal actually. But that’s our only gripe. And it’s clearly not a big one, since it hasn’t stopped us from giving the song plenty of listens.
