You MAY remember last summer we wrote an introductory piece about Faroese pop duo BYRTA and how amazing they and the songs they’d thus far uploaded to their Soundcloud page were. Well now they’re back with what is OH YES their best output to date. New single ‘Grát Ei Eftir Mánanum’.
It’s a big stunner this one. It hits with its production throughout the first verse, before giving way to an almighty chorus. An almighty chorus that’s delivered with a sexy, detached vocal that stays with you after the song has finished.
It’s one of those songs that is so good, that we can’t help but imagine how well received it would be outside of the Faroe Islands, if performed in English by a bigger artist. With ‘Grát Ei Eftir Mánanum’ we’re thinking it would be perfect for Mutya Keisha Siobhan. Like, absolutely perfect.
