So, that exclusive BWO news that we promised you last week. Here it is!

Yes – BWO have re-recorded their new single, ‘Right Here, Right Now’ alongside one of our favourite Scandinavian artists of all time, Velvet! And it’s going to be the next single in the UK for both acts, released on August 31st. BWO and Velvet are the ideal scandipop pairing, and we think that they sound perfect together. Velvet’s inclusion takes absolutely nothing away from what was already an excellent track, it only adds positively to the song, making it sound even better. How euphoric does it sound when Velvet suddenly appears halfway through the first verse?! Her and Martin’s vocals seem to compliment each other surprisingly well – after a while it’s even easy to forget that this isn’t the original version of the song. The video is also being re-shot for the UK market, and we’ll post it here as soon as it’s available.

It’s always a risk when two of your favourite acts work together – what happens if they both take away from each other what made you fall in love with them in the first place? Thankfully this hasn’t happened here, and the risk has paid off for BWO and Velvet. We’re delighted that a song as brilliant as ‘Right Here, Right Now’ is the platform for these two coming together. Both acts have already experienced some degree of success in the UK. BWO have had hits both on radio and in the UK singles chart. Velvet had a big club hit earlier in the year with ‘Chemistry’, and the video recieved high rotation on the dance channels. Hopefully the pairing of the two should propel them even higher up the charts and see them join the ranks of their fellow scandipoppers who’ve achieved massive success in the UK over the last 12 months. We think it’s one of the strongest pop records this year – here’s hoping for BBC Radio 1 A-Listing for BWO!

We’ll be exclusively premiering the full length ‘Right Here, Right Now’ at the scandipop club night this Thursday 18th!

And finally, here’s the press release for the single;

Sweden’s finest export BWO get set to unleash their hot new single “Right Here, Right Now” with the addition of something very special and the UK have the world exclusive.
BWO (Bodies Without Organs) – consisting of Martin Rolinski (lead vocals), Marina Schiptjenko (laptops, backing vocals) and Alexander Bard (laptops, backing vocals) – is a laptop-based electro band from Stockholm, Sweden. The band was formed in 2003 and has since released three studio albums: “Prototype” (2004), “Halcyon Days” (2006), “Fabricator” (2007), and one compilation album: “Pandemonium/The Singles Collection” (2008). BWO has also released a remix album: “Halcyon Nights” (2007) and a music video DVD collection: “Pandemonium/The Video Collection” (2008).

They have become famous not only for their capacity to score one hit single after another (they have delivered more hit singles in the Pan-European Singles Chart than any other artist in the 21st century), but also as the latest representation of the proud tradition of Scandinavian tongue-in-cheek pop for the masses, following in the footsteps of their native role models Abba, Roxette and The Cardigans. To emphasize the width of their success, BWO achieved their first #1 hit single in Russia already in the autumn of 2003, when they were still unknowns in their native Sweden, while they also had four singles in the UK Singles Chart in 2008 and a Top 40 Dance Chart hit in the U.S. Their enthusiasm for extensive touring in countries rarely visited by other Western artists has earned them a dedicated following in places as varied as Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Kazachstan and South Africa and #1 records to match.

Now get ready for “Right Here, Right Now” which now features Jenny Petersson, better known as VELVET, who you will know from the likes of “Deja Vu”, “Chemistry”, “Fix Me”, “Take My Body Close” and most recently for her Melodifestivalen entry this year “The Queen”. Velvet are label mates with BWO over in Sweden with Bonnier Amigo and is also known for her strong club / radio success here in the UK courtesy of the guys at EMI / Positiva. Now the 2 join forces to create one of the strongest pop records for 2009 that looks to give both BWO and Velvet one hell of a hit!
