Scandipop fave Beldina FINALLY drops her debut album ‘Opening Act’ next Wednesday, March 19th. We’ve been featuring her tracks a fair bit over the last couple of years, and getting more and more excited about the impending debut album with each new release from her. She is amazing. Vocally, musically, everythingally.
And this week, as a final preview to whet all our appetites to the max, she’s released TWO new songs in full. There’s the uplifting dancepop track ‘Higher’, and the downtempo r&b jam ‘Cloud 9’. Guess which one is our favourite!
‘Higher’ is the one that we keep playing over and over. A slick production that she calls ‘soulectro’, and it’s a sharp showcase for that stunner of a vocal that she delivers every time. ‘Cloud 9’, created in collaboration with Sway Clarke II, is enjoyable in its own right too. But in our case, we had to wait for a few plays of ‘Higher’ to sink in, before we could give it the time it deserves. We don’t know how many more new tracks will feature on ‘Opening Act’, but we do have high suspicions that we’ll be giving the whole thing a hell of a lot of rotation.
