Following on from last year’s really quite brill ‘I Don’t Like To Wait‘, B Robin has today premiered his brand new single on Swedish radio station P3. It’s ‘Fired’, and it features noted Eric Saade collaborator J-Son!
‘Fired’, like ‘I Don’t Like To Wait’ before it, is bang on trend, soulful r&b pop music with a touch of the up-tempos to it. Hand-clappy, ad-lib friendly, and All Funked Up. Vocally, the chap sounds so at home on this kind of song, and as a listener you can totally hear the unashamed joy in his voice – joy that he’s getting to sing the kind of music he really wants to. Sonically, we’d call him the Swedish John Newman, but he’s got a bit more a Scandipop sensibility to him than that. It’s all a bit happier.
And thanks to J-Son, we get a “you’re fired” and “Donald Trump” reference thrown in. Amazing.
‘Fired’ is the second single from Robin Bengtsson under his new moniker of B Robin. And on the strength of the first two tracks, we’re most definitely looking forward to hearing more. Loads more.
