Today’s been an important day for the members of Swedish girlband Love Generation, both current and former. The band’s existing line-up as a trio this morning tweeted that they were on their way to a big meeting with Universal Sweden and with their creator, writer and producer – the one and only RedOne. The last we heard, we would be getting a new single from the Love Generation girls and produced by RedOne, very soon – titled ‘Just A Little Bit’.
And former member Mikaela Urbom, who left the group earlier this summer, also had something of an exciting day today. Her brand new single, her first as a solo artist, got its premiere play on Swedish radio this afternoon. Now going under the solo moniker of Coco, she gave Metropol Radio the first play, and you can now have a listen to it below. That’s a picture of her to the right by the way, but don’t get too used to the red hair – she dyed it blonde yesterday!
So what about this single then?!
It’s called ‘Music Is Turning Me On’, and it’s credited to Andremo feat. Coco. And thankfully, praise the pop lords, she’s stayed within the club pop mold! It’s a thoroughbred dance track – reminiscent of late 90’s eurohouse. And it’s got an easily memorable chorus. It sounds a little bit like if Britney’s ‘Till The World Ends’ faked an ID, got itself into a more ‘grown-up’ club, and danced the morning away with some gurning but very friendly strangers! And as the title suggests, the lyrics don’t stray too far away from whatever feelings that aforementioned clubland experience would evoke in one’s self.
