New popstar in the making, Andreas Wijk, embarked on the next stage of his blossoming pop career last week. He opened the Gothia Cup Games with a performance of the Swedish House Mafia hit, ‘Save The World Tonight’.
Coming from a fashion blogging background, Andreas always had something of an uphill struggle to convince people that he is actually a singer too. One quick browse of his youtube channel in which he uploads videos of himself singing other people’s songs is all the proof that one should ever need though. Then came his debut single earlier this year, ‘Like My Style‘, which ended up a chart topper on Swedish iTunes. However, it’s this ‘Save The World Tonight’ performance that has really impressed us the most, where his vocal talents are concerned. There’s something about his voice on this song that we absolutely love – it sounds perfect for the track. And he makes an admirable job of the genuinely difficult task at hand – singing to an actual stadium full of people. And that’s even without taking consideration of his young age and the fact that he hasn’t been doing this singing-in-public lark for very long.
We want more!
