This summer’s series of Allsång På Skansen started off this evening. Eight weeks of favourable popstar guests singing good pop and schlager tunes – broadcast on SVT1 every week, and then repeated on scandipop.co.uk! We must say also, that we do have a slight preference for Allsång På Skansen over its friendly rival Lotta På Liseberg – if only for the spectacular views of Stockholm that viewers get from the Skansen stage. Although in fairness, Lotta På Liseberg DOES have the most pop friendly line-up of artists this year, out of the two.

The lovely Måns Zelmerlöw is back as the host for the second year running. And the big names brought in to kick things off this year were Agnes and Laleh. Agnes was ACE – not only did she give the first TV performance of new single ‘One Last Time’, but she also treated viewers to her mega hit ‘Release Me’. Laleh was also pretty amazing, performing three of her recent singles, ‘Some Die Young’, ‘Ängeln i Rummet’, and ‘Vårens Första Dag’.
We also derived some pleasure and entertainment from Sean Banan. Bless him. Oh and this semi amusing tribute to Sweden’s unfortunate football team was also ‘of note’, featuring Måns himself, E-Type, Markoolio, and a few others.
