9848Probably spurred on after downloading the audio delights of September, the people of America have just downloaded their 135,000th copy of fellow Swede Basshunter‘s ‘All I Ever Wanted’. This comes as September‘s ‘Cry For You’ slowly approaches the 300,000 sales mark, and climbs to number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 – a new peak for the song. Basshunter unfortunately hasn’t been afforded a position on the main chart, but has some heft, and let’s face it, unexpected sales to keep him happy. It’s been a very long time since a Swede poppet graced the Hot 100, and even longer since there were two acts notching up such sales – and it’s all the more surprising given that they’re dance acts. Long may the trend continue! Velvet – it’s your turn next.

Elsewhere in the genre specific Billboard charts, Finnish act Ercola & Daniella are at number 4 on the dance airplay chart with ‘Every Word’ (a scandipop favourite which will be played more than once at the first scandipop night in two weeks time), Icelandic Bjork is number one in the dance physical single sales chart with ‘The Dull Flame of Desire’, and Swedish Robyn continues to climb the club charts with ‘Cobrastyle’.
