Swedish electronic act Marilyn & The Rouge (which is actually just Marilyn herself – pictured above) have come up and come out with something quite interesting this week. It’s a stark electronic cover of Salem Al Fakir’s ‘Keep On Walking’.
We think very highly of the original, which finished second in Melodifestivalen 2010. But we’re really enjoying this re-imagining, which was brought to our attention by Roger on the Scandipop Facebook forum (which you can request to join here).
Listening to it and imagining we hadn’t heard the original, we think the topline of ‘Keep On Walking’ takes on a totally new and haunting guise when placed over the top of Marilyn’s production, and delivered by her vocal.
Whether you’re familiar with the original or not, this is definitely worth a listen;
