Sveriges Radio today premiered a brand new single from Måns Zelmerlöw.
‘Tis is a yuletide jaunt, ‘Kära Vinter’ (Dear Winter). They say that it’s from a brand new Christmas album that Måns is going to release this year, following last year’s ‘Christmas With Friends’ record. He’d best get a ruddy wriggle on with it though, it’s already November 24th!
This album is going to be covers of a selection of seasonal songs that he’s handpicked himself. However, the lead single which you can listen to below, is a newly composed song – by Peter Nordahl and Moh Denebi. Moh worked with Måns all the way back in 2007, when he played the guitar on and recorded Måns’ acoustic version of ‘Cara Mia’ on the singles’s Maxi CD.
As for ‘Kära Vinter’, well it’s less jazz-tastic than the efforts on ‘Christmas With Friends’, and more pop orientated. That warm Christmas ambience is still intact though. And we know it’s only been a year, but we’d forgotten how much we’d missed Måns’ tones on new music. We thought we’d lost him to TV stardom for a long time to come.
