In the past 12 months, Elisa’s have already won SVT’s Dansbandskampen show (for the uninitiated – that’s X Factor for Dansbands, can you IMAGINE!), scored a number 1 album in Sweden with the release of their debut, ‘Det Här Är Bara Början’, and also managed to win over a sizable portion of the nation’s dansband music fans with their fresh brand of cheerful tunage delivered by the perennially lovable lead singer, Elisa Lindström.
Already though, they’re back with a brand new single which will presumably lead to the release of their second album. And in our dream fantasy world, that second album’s release will tie-in with their performance in Glöben at the Melodifestivalen 2012 final!….
Back to reality though, the new single is called ‘Jag Säger Som Det Är’ (‘I Say It Like It Is’), and if you were on these pages last weekend, you will have witnessed its live premiere on TV. Now however, we’ve got the full studio recording to wrap our listening gear around. And it’s bliss! Composed by Thomas G:son, Henrik Sethon, and Kent Liljefjäll, it’s a suitably schlager tinged dansband track. Admittedly often veering too far on the side of country music for our tastes, but always coming back on track with the schlager sound we cherish so much in this kind of music. It’s foot-tapping, head-bopping, key-changing stuff – and further evidence that Elisa’s really are already a treasure in the Dansband music scene.
