Hanne Sørvaag is releasing a new single in Norway, following January’s Melodi Grand Prix attempt, ’You’re Like A Melody’. It’s called ‘Say Hello To Goodbye’ and it’s from her new album ‘Cover Me’ – which sees her record cover versions of songs that she has written for other artists in the past. Genius album concept, and even more genius album title!
‘Say Hello To Goodbye’ was originally recorded by Shontelle for her 2010 album, ‘No Gravity’ (which, coincidentally, we were only listening to yesterday!). It’s an infectiously melodic mid-tempo ballad. Heavy on the heartstring tugging, thanks to its melancholic lyrics. We loved Shontelle’s version and we love Hanne’s version even more.
And look, there’s a video too. It features Hanne looking a bridal shade of beautiful. Half of the time she’s slumped amongst a heap of relationship mementos, and the other half she’s showing off the utterly gorgeous man that she used to share said relationship with. We’d be heartbroken too Hanne, if we had to say hello to goodbye to that fine specimen of man!
