If you’re familiar with their previous work, the video for ‘Caramelldansen‘ (and again, how could ANYONE not be?!), then you’ll see that they’ve stuck to the exact same formula here. Animated girls dancing like epileptics to a turbo bubblegum track. However, we have a couple of gripes that we’d like to get out of the way, to air. And yes, we know it’s RIDICULOUS to be pouring critique on something like this, but it’s important. Very important.

Firstly, why have the animators forgot to make the girls’ mouths move? They’re presented as a girlband, they’re certainly performing the song on stage, and we can of course hear vocals. But their mouths are shut throughout. WHY?! It’s pure laziness and it simply will not do. Ironically, in their previous video (and let’s take a look at that again shall we) the animators fell victim to a similar bout of laziness, and kept their mouths the same throughout the song too – although in that case, said mouths were open the whole time! They never closed! LOOK AT THEM! Still, at least we could suspend disbelief for three minutes and just imagine that these girls don’t need to close their mouths to form syllables, they can simply do it with a bit of tongue action. Here however, there’s no such suspension of disbelief – it’s utterly unbelievable. And thus utterly disappointing.

SECONDLY, it’s been given the ‘live video’ treatment. This method is usually afforded to singles that are the fourth or fifth releases off an album, and the record label simply can’t afford to ship the band off to another location to have an expensive video made, at what is essentially the end of an album campaign, so they just cobble together some live footage and that will do. But why has this method been employed here?! It’s an animated video – there ARE no location costs!!! Personally, we wouldn’t have minded a few beach shots. Maybe a nightclub. Or a hilarious office setting where they dance rampant around an official looking board meeting. But no, it’s instead been made to look like a cheap, bottom of the barrel, live video.

Thirdly, is just us, or are they dancing a bit out of time to the music in places? Again – no excuse.

We still love it though. How could ANYONE not;
