The grand final of Denmark’s X Factor took place last night, and so we now have a winner, and thus a winner’s song released!
‘Min Øjesten’ is the track. It’s an anthemic r&b ballad, quite different to the usual winner’s song fodder of these types of shows. It’s certainly current anyway, as it was Xander who was drafter in to compose it. Xander has of course had one of the biggest hits in Denmark over the last six months with ‘Det Burde Ikk Være Sådan Her‘, so his involvement in this does add a certain kind of ‘credibility’ to it, that might have been lacking in previous years, and has definitely been lacking in the UK version of the show. We like the song, although we’re looking forward to hearing it in studio recording, as the vocals in the performance below sound a tad strained from someone who obviously isn’t very used to the song yet.
As for Sarah, well she’s been one of the more high profile Danish X Factor contestants in the media this year, thanks in part to her performances on the show each week, and also because she has already come out as a lesbian, at the age of fifteen.
