Normally, we respect an artist who manages to sing live and yet still sound exactly like they do on a clear and mastered studio recording. With Martina, we’ve found an opposite kind of respect – despite the fact that she’s miming to her recorded backing track, the vocals we’re hearing on that track still sound like a shambolic live performance. And that really takes some doing.
