Swedish singer and songwriter Julia Viktoria might not have won the weekend’s first episode of Songland Sweden, in which up-and-coming songwriters got to pitch their songs for Oscar Zia to record. But she’s taken the very sensible decision to take matters into her own hands in getting the banger out there – by recording and releasing it herself. Excellent work all round really. This string-laden, beat-heavy burst of pop joy should be a staple on the Swedish radio airwaves over the next few months, if there’s any justice.
