Here’s the first entry from the second of our two guest bloggers for Melodifestivalen 2011. It´s Le Kid! The mega brilliant pop band will be competing in Melodifestivalen in February, with the song ‘Oh My God’. And this is their introduction to you;
Mon Dieu!
These last weeks has been fabulous and exhausting at the same time. All thanks to that TV thing we’re doing this February.
You see, our main purpose in life is to make you all see what we see. When we look at a street we don’t see a street. We see a place for a potential final number in a musical. When dwarfs do synchronized dancing in the front, and the lovers finally get to kiss, with everyone cheering, even the bad guy (and really, it wasn’t his fault to begin with. Blame society!)
And to be able to show you our world, it really has to be OUR world. That’s why we are like a bunch of small dictators (sorry SVT..). We can’t let someone else decide what THEY would like to happen during our three minutes, it has to come from us!
Let us brag about how amazing we are for a second…
Most bands (even “cool” bands) use producers, songwriters, people who’s tweeting for them, choosing outfits etc. The fact is, we do almost everything ourselves. If you see a tweet, it’s us, If you see a single cover, we did it ourselves. If you see a LED-performance behind us, we programmed it ourselves. If you see a cool outfit, we came up with the idea. We write the songs, play the instruments, produce the tracks, sing the backing vocals. Ourselves. So you might not like what you see and hear (who are we kidding? Of course you will), but what you get is our view of how the world ought to be like.
The downside? We will all die of stress related diseases in ten years.
But still.. Isn’t a world in pink prettier than one in gray?
Lots of love and sloppy kisses!
Le Kid
