What’s this? Brand-new music from Swedish pop superstar Darin. He’s back with a ballad – his latest single ‘Holding Me More’. And today he’s released the live-performance music video for it.
What’s it like? In some ways it’s like a bridge between the old and the new Darin. The song is in the same style and genre as some of his biggest Swedish-language hits in recent years. But then the lyrical content is a glimpse into a side of Darin that he hasn’t been able to share before – and which we’re grateful to be able to hear for the first time. In any case, whether you’re a fresh fan of Darin’s or a long-time supporter of his, ‘Holding Me More’ will probably end up going down as one of your all-time faves.
What does Darin say? “This is definitely one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever sung. While I think anyone who has ever experienced heartbreak can probably relate to this song in one way or another, I feel that it hits different depending on how you’re feeling at any given time. There is a real bittersweet complexity to it, where the tenderness of reconciliation and nostalgia sits side-by-side with the pain of not being sure if you’ll ever able to trust that person completely again. I’ve really enjoyed writing with the incredibly talented Jamie Hartman on this one and I can’t wait for you to hear more from our sessions. The clarity I’ve had from writing during lockdown has allowed me to feel free
and has given me confidence to create my most authentic work yet.”
Written by? Darin himself, along with Jamie Hartman.
More from Darin? This summer he returned with the disco-fabulous ‘Can’t Stay Away‘.
