What’s this? One of Sweden’s finest vocalists is back with her first release in over half a decade. Which is far too long when you consider the voice in question. Linda Pritchard today releases ‘Be Like You’.
What’s it about? It’s one of a few songs that she wrote years ago (and indeed, she actually premiered this song on Swedish radio back in 2013 – and we wrote about it – but it was never officially released until today) about her broken relationship with her father. It took her becoming a parent and an enforced time of reflection and assessment, with the global pandemic, to process these feelings. And she’s now ready to release these songs. ‘Be Like You’ is the first.
What’s it like? A bombastic ballad that builds in tempo and strength just as Linda’s delivery of her lyrics builds in conviction.
What does Linda say? “I have come a long way with these songs, and thought back and forth about them. But I have come to the conclusion that I want to release them now. The lyrics are straightforward and honest and it has been a difficult process, but I want him to know my opinions about him (although I’m pretty sure he will not listen), so it will somehow feel good to me.”
