What’s this? An artist who made plenty of waves (and radio airwaves) in her native Denmark in 2020 is back with her first release of 2021. Jada’s new single is the conveniently titled ‘I’m Back’.
What’s it like? A soulful declaration of intent that’s been given a convincing vocal delivery, a grand cinematic production, and a nice retro tone. It also features strings aplenty, which is always a winner in pop, in our book!
What does Jada say? “‘I’m Back’ is about getting through a process. It’s about doubting yourself and losing balance and then finding the way back to yourself again. It’s also about how I relate to judgmental voices both from the
outside and from within myself. It’s a song that I’ve been wanting to write for a long time, but it was hard to describe the nuances of both taking things in and getting hit by the words and at the same time shaking them off again and not really caring about what other people think.”
Written by? Jada herself, along with Elias Näslin, Frederik Thaae and Malthe Rostrup.
More from Jada? Last year we were pretty damn enamoured with ‘On Me‘.
