Oh, her who did that excellent and cruelly underrated song in Melodifestivalen this year? THAT’S HER!!!
What’s this one like? Another masterful creation from the talented lady. This one takes the indie-pop sensibilities of February’s ‘Late’ and mixes them up with a production that is reminiscent of Robyn’s ‘Be Mine’.
What does she say? “Behave! (the English translation of the title, ‘Bete Dig’). Who has not wanted to say it once, ten or a thousand times? I sat in the studio with Oliver Björkvall during my first year at Musikmakarna and thought back on a relationship I was in many years earlier and wish I had said just that. Behave. Then the song really got time to germinate. Almost two years and many drafts later, it’s time for release. And during the process, it has come to mean something different to me. ‘Bete Dig’ is about leaving and moving on to liberation and for me about leaving a former life behind. A former self. Almost like I’m singing to myself. What I love most about the text in ‘Bete Dig’ is that it is so f*cking funny and how everyone can make the story their own. We have all met someone who we wish would shapen up, just get the picture and never be heard of again. Writing songs is the most central thing in my artistry and it has taken up a lot of space in the completion of ‘Bete Dig’. In addition to Oliver, I have received help from Helena Larsson and producers Noel Svahn and David Landolf (Kretsen).”
