What’s this? The brand-new single from Isak Danielson. His first since signing a big, shiny, new record deal. This is ‘Silence’, the music video for which he has released this week.
What’s it like? The company it’s coming out via might have changed, but thankfully the music itself remains in Isak’s trademark sound and style. This new one is, however, one of his very best to date. And on it, he bares a particularly large amount of his soul.
What does Isak say? “When I wrote “Silence”, I wanted to try to contribute to a contemporary reflection of both the individual’s mood and the collective, with a message that together, we have the opportunity to change how the story is written. I want to see the change before I die an lose my voice.”
And about the video? Well that, and you’ll see why, comes with a bit of an explanation and a warning: “Very excited to share the video to “Silence”. This video has a few strong images and the meaning behind them is to get you to listen to the lyrics and the message of the song and start a conversation. I wanted to visually portray the feeling of anxiety many of us feel when we think about the madness in the world. But, as I hope you really understand, those physical actions are definitely not encouraged.”
Written by? Isak himself, along with Gustaf Holter, Christian Persson and Isabelle Jahanfar Tholin.
More from Isak? Earlier in the year he released his ‘Run To You‘ EP.
