What’s this? The gorgeous music video for the brand-new single from Swedish artist Brother Leo. And oh boy is it a big one. It’s his best one yet, by far. Which is no small feat. But then nothing about this song is small. ‘Barcelona’.
What’s so good about it? It’s an absolute epic onto which he’s invited the London Community Gospel Choir to perform, cos that would be amazing and guess what it is. It’s the sound of him channeling his inner Brother Leo Del Rey. It grabs you from the offset, and then from the 2:35 mark it practically shakes you. Enjoy!
What does Brother Leo say? “The song is about two intense weeks I had in Barcelona years ago, experiencing a lot of things for the first time. Two weeks that in many ways made me grow up, I guess, maybe a little bit too fast. I wanted to try to capture those moments and memories in this song both lyrically, but also in the soundscape. To tell this story sonically, I wanted the soundscape to have some kind of cinematic and organic vibe to it and dynamically just letting it grow. In short, ’Barcelona’ is about love and loss, and realising that nothing is forever. I think a lot of people can relate to this and hopefully it will bring back some good memories”.
Written by? Brother Leo himself, along with Nathaniel Motte and Dan Grech.
More from Brother Leo? Our favourite song of his (up until now) was “p-p-push up on me!”.
