What’s this? Following on from the release of her ‘Sway’ EP, Swedish artist Tove Styrke has released the music video for the record’s lead single and title track.
What happens in it? It’s a touching portrayal of a love story developing on the streets of London.
What’s on the EP? Well, there’s the four singles (before ‘Sway’, you remember ‘Mistakes‘, ‘Say My Name‘ and ‘Changed My Mind‘), plus three brand new songs, and that Lorde cover that she did – ‘liability’.
What are the new songs like? Excellent. ‘On The Low’ reminds us of first-album era Tove, while ‘On A Level’ and ‘I Lied’ are both catchy slices of synthpop, both with varying tempos. It all results in a superb and completely coherent mini-album. Possibly her best body of work to date, all in all.
You can find ‘On A Level’ on our Best New Synthpop playlist.
