We last featured this Danish artist on these very pages at the very beginning of the year, when she released the rather marvellous ‘Better‘. She’s now back with a brand new single. And in keeping with the theme of song titles that hint at how good her song is, she’s called it ‘Awesome’. Heralding it as an anthem for downtrodden ladies, Fjer says “I wrote a note to my self almost two years ago that just said ‘Awesome’. I was feeling small and unappreciated and thought to myself, ‘You have to remember that you’re awesome’. It took me a while but I finally sat down and wrote a song about that feeling“. Written, recorded, and produced by Fjer all on her lonesome, the song is a slow-burner at first, but soon reveals itself to be a real ear-worm. And one that we’ve been listening to lots over the past week or so.
