Since the release of her debut international album, ‘So Good’, there’s one song in particular that Zara Larsson’s fellow Swedes have been going a bit mental over. It’s the sublime ‘Only You’, which was co-penned by both Petra Marklund and Jocke Berg. Not only has it become far and away the most streamed non-single from the album on Spotify, but radio stations have long since taken it upon themselves to start rinsing it regardless of it never officially being released as a “single”.
This weekend though, the song got an official release as a single in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland – as a duet between Zara and German pop legend Nena. You can check it out below, as well as a live performance of the song on German TV from last night.
On top of that, elsewhere Zara has released a remix EP of the original song – featuring the album version and three new mixes. The remix by Norwegian production team KREAM is our fave of the bunch, succeeding in turning the song into dance track that slots in perfectly to the 2017 clubland soundscape. Though we’re always a complete sucker for an orchestral version of a top notch song, and that very mix of ‘Only You’ is as lush as we could have hoped for (and it’s the orchestral version that Zara and Nena sing over for their duet).
You can find ‘Only You’ (KREAM remix) on our Best New Dance playlist.
