She’s one of Sweden’s most successful recording artists in recent years, and she’s now coming to London to perform at scandipop live! On Sunday April 25th, she’ll be performing the hits that have made her a staple on Swedish radio and on the Swedish charts. We’ve seen her perform live before, and it’s an experience that has to be heard to be believed – few can rival the powerhouse of a voice that she’s got going on. At the moment, she’s on a sold out tour all across Sweden, and so it’s an extra special treat that she’s coming to London to perform for the fans that can’t make it over to Sweden to see her there.
Sarah Dawn Finer has been making music for years, but it was only in 2007 that she broke through to huge commercial success. Her unforgettable song ‘I Remember Love’ made the final of Melodifestivalen and became one of the year’s biggest hits, both in sales and on radio. The album ‘A Finer Dawn’ followed and reached number 2 on the album charts. In 2009, she went one better both with a new single and album. The song, ‘Moving On’, again reached the Melodifestivalen final, but this time around it became THE most played song by a Swedish artist on radio that year. It also became a fan favourite with both fans of Sarah and with fans of Melodifestivalen. Her new album of the same name was released in August 2009 and went straight to number 1 on the album chart – cementing Sarah’s status as one of the most popular recording artists of the latter half of the decade.
And at the end of this month in London, she’ll be demonstrating why!
Plus, as always with scandipop, it’s a whole evening of music, on top of the live performance. From 7pm until late, we’ll be playing the latest and greatest in Scandinavian pop, dance, and schlager music. You’ll be able to come along and dance to all the great stuff that Scandinavia has been producing recently, plus all of the scandipop staples that we play every time. And of course, we’ll also be playing all of the best songs from this year’s Melodifestivalen for the first time. And somewhere in the middle of all that will be Sarah Dawn Finer! Sarah will also be bringing along copies of her album ‘Moving On’, and there’ll be a signing session after the performance.
