The new single? Released this coming Friday, it’s the new one from Sweden’s Axwell /\ Ingrosso. We heard it for the first time on Saturday night at their gig in London’s Alexandra Palace, and subsequently lost our shit to it.
That good eh? Even better. It’s definitely our favourite thing they’ve ever done as a duo, potentially even on their own, or as part of that infamous trio they once ruled the world with. It might be too commercial for the house music purists, but therein lies its appeal to us. It’s got a top-line melody that is so catchy it borders on novelty. Despite only hearing it the once on Saturday night – and being in quite a state at the time – it’s been in our head ever since. It’s amazing house music, and it’s brilliant pop music.
Sounds like it could be a bit huge for them? It certainly should be. It also features in H&M’s summer ad campaign (watch the full advert below). The UK still has a huge appetite for Swedish house music (‘You & I’ by Galantis is a month in the Top 10 now, and still counting), and this is one of the better examples of the genre. Certainly one with potentially an even wider appeal than most.
And who is that on vox duties? That dear readers is both Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare.
