Is this Marion Raven’s new single?! Yes. She will be performing it on the final of Norwegian Idol this weekend. And then it will be on her next album ‘Scandal Vol.2’. Although it has already appeared on the international reissue of her 2013 album ‘Songs From A Blackbird’.
Kind of odd. But it makes perfect sense too. It’s a song that is FAR too good to be confined to mere album-track status. And we’re guessing the reaction from fans has been so good, that she’s decided to resurrect it and allow it to shine in the way it deserves to.
Good on her. Indeed. ‘Better Than This’ is a brilliaballad that’s big on strings, big on piano, big on melody, big on drama, and big on vox. It’s perfect for this time of year. And we hope it’s a big Christmas hit for her in Norway after her TV performance of it this weekend. It SOUNDS like Winter. If you know what we mean.
