Danish superstar Burhan G has this week re-released a song that was first made available on his ‘Din For Evigt’ album released last year. It’s ‘Krig og Kærlighed’, a song that was originally a duet with Caroline Franceska, but which has now been re-recorded to feature a name that will be very familiar to Scandipop readers – Miss Molly Sandén!
It’s a bi-lingual duet – him singing in his native Danish, and Molly in Swedish. If you’re looking for a reference point of what it sounds like, try an updated Danish version of Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown’s ‘No Air’. Particularly in the bridge, chorus and post-chorus. Amazing. The last minute or so is the best bit. That’s where the harmonies come out, and where Molly really lets rip with her vocals.
An instantly likable ballad that’s very well produced, and features a good helping of Scandinavian soul. Soul that’s delivered via two languages.
If you want to listen to the song in full, it’s streaming over on DR’s website. Just click on the big “HØR” Good ol’ public service broadcasting.
