We tweeted a link to this song earlier this week, in a case of this-song-is-good-but-we-don’t-quite-like-it-enough-to-feature-it-on-the-website. But actually, we’ve found ourselves coming back to it more and more as the week has progressed. And yeah, it’s much better than the small bit of credit we initially gave it.
It’s ‘Heart Weighs A Ton’ by London based producer Alex Metric and featuring a vocal who will be very familiar to Scandipop readers. Although not the new ones – since the band it hails from hasn’t actually released anything new for a couple of years. Major sad face there. It’s the voice of Stefan Storm – out of The Sound of Arrows.
‘Heart Weighs A Ton’ is big piano house, such is the fashion these days. Except this highlight of the genre has had a stylish electronica makeover, to help it stand out a bit from everything else out there. The vocal trillings of Mr Storm only serve to accentuate the ahead-of-the-trend feeling that the song nonchalantly exudes. And the repetitive lyric of the chorus makes for a catchy number – which is probably the main culprit for us continuing to come back to it throughout the week. It bangs. And we’ve gone from liking it to loving it in a very short space of time.
Give it a chance to do the same for you;
