Here’s an awesome discovery we made this week. The current single from Norwegian singer Frida Amundsen, of ‘Closer’ and ‘Rush’ fame.

It’s a great deal of gorgeousness, this one. Despite it being released back in June, we only actually heard it for the first time yesterday. And it’s not TOO much of an exaggeration to say that it’s been on repeat since then. Those chords you hear in the intro – and go on to form the basis of the whole song. And then there’s the melody of the verse, which then turns out to be the melody of the “chorus” too. And the backing vocals. ‘What If’ is a total stunner. And we’re fuming we’ve missed out on a summer of listening to this – why did no one else write about this song that’s been out since June?!

‘What If’ was written by Frida herself along with Joakim Berg from Kent (that man who wrote Petra Marklund’s ‘Händerna Mot Himlen’ – along with all those Kent songs).
