Three singles into his career and he’s yet to produce a bad one!
‘Where I Belong’ is another catchy pop track flirting with dance music, much like his first two singles, ‘Beat Of My Heart’ and ‘Stay’. But whereas those two were pure pop, this one ventures further towards clubland, and has a trance-lite backing track that’s heavy in synths. By Jonas’ own admission, he’s attempted to recreate his favourite kind of dance music. In fact, isn’t this the most heartening type of self description an artist can give their music?!
Lately I have listened a lot to several house producers like David Guetta and Paul Oakenfold, as well as old euro techno goodies from the 1990’s. In “Where I Belong” I have tried to combine that sound with the more typical Swedish pop sound that runs in my veins
If that’s what you’re striving towards Jonas, then please give us a whole album of it!
Another thing that we love about Jonas is the fact that he’s doing it all by himself. He’s bypassing any record label involvement and making the type of music that he loves best himself. Then releasing it. As a pop music listener, you often wonder whether the artist you love likes the kind of music they’re making as much as you do. But with Jonas, you know there’s nothing else he loves doing more than making good pop!
