Well hooray for the arrival of a new dancepop track from Sweden this week, that has a touch of the sads about it, and a bit of a stunner of a lyric/title too. ‘Begging For Amnesia’ by We Are Legends featuring Norwegian singer Caroline Ailin.
The Legends provide a subtle (but intense, if you really listen to it) synth production that allows Caroline’s top-line and vocal to take the limelight here. ‘Begging For Amnesia’ has the catchy chorus melody of a particularly commercial folk ballad, and her commandeering vocal renders it even harder to ignore. There’s a comment to be made here about how you won’t be begging for amnesia after listening to it, but we aren’t gonna be the ones to make it.
We Are Legends have previously bestowed the almighty ‘Shoestrings’ upon us, and more recently ‘Passionate Ones’. They are good.
