Danish pop chap Mohamed Ali released his brand new single this week, his first since finishing second (behind eventual Eurovision winner Emmelie de Forest) at this year’s Danish Melodi Grand Prix with ‘Unbreakable’.

The X Factor graduate takes a break from dancepop (*sad face*) and returns to his r&b/pop roots of yesteryear. He’s delivered a laidback, chill out ‘jam’. Surprisingly uplifting despite being so downbeat. And he sounds totally comfortable doing this kind of sound too. That, coupled with parts of the lyrics, suggests that this mature r&b pop is the direction that we’ll be hearing Mohamed go in for future releases. And yeah, we’re actually fine with that. *sad face remedied* Although we’d love to see him have another crack at MGP too. Like, next year.

He’s uploaded the song to his YouTube channel, together with a video that traces his journey in pop so far. And looking at it you realise just how well he’s blossomed! Crikey.

‘Sky’s The Limit’ is out now, and has been released outside of Denmark too.
