Another visit to SVT’s current show Alla Tiders Hits now, and this time we’ve got Shirley Clamp and Nicke Borg’s take on Lars Winnerbäck and Miss Li’s ’Om Du Lämnade Mig Nu’. The original version of which was a ludicrously successful song from 2007, that picked up all of the sought after Swedish awards, and stayed on the Svensktoppen radio chart for literally YEARS after its release.
’Tis a soft rock ballad that deals with that tricky old issue of heartbreak. A modern day Swedish standard, that everyone in the country has at least heard, or at most knows intimately. More in tune with Nicke Borg’s usual style than our own Shirley Clamp’s, but that doesn’t stop her from knocking out a superb vocal that’s ripe with empotion, and manages to match the grit of Borg’s.
It’s a bit of a beauty, this one. And here they are performing it live.
